How long does the after school program run?

The program runs 5 days a week, for about 2 ½ - 3 hours a day for nine months.

What is the cost of 4-H afterschool programs?

There is no cost to students for the afterschool program.

What are some of the benefits of the 4-H afterschool program?

  • Getting homework completed
  • Socializing with friends and a safe adult
  • Enrichment – learning skills that will benefit their lives

How do I sign my child up?

Teacher referral

OR

Parents can go to the school office and sign their children up for 4-H afterschool. Be aware that this is only for schools that have an afterschool program in place and that some schools may have waiting lists.

     What can I do if I want to volunteer with this program?

     Run a 4-H club for 45 minutes to an hour once a week

Who runs the 4-H afterschool program at each school?

Salt Lake School District hires the staff for each school. The staff runs the after-school program the standard having already being set by the school district

Programs are also run by staff members at the YMCA, ABC New Beginnings, and Salt Lake County Youth Corrections.
